Two G1 performances in two days for our Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS who was previously crowned at the highest level with GOING GLOBAL and SUPREMACY who posted both a G1 victory. G1-placed at two, three and now four-year-olds, MINZAAL showed impressive to finish runner-up in the prestigious G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville on August, 7 despite a ground not of his liking. Bred by Ringfort Stud Ltd, he is targeting the G1 Haydock Sprint next. Juvenile PERSIAN FORCE followed-up his G2 success on last month by a second place in the G1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh, Ireland on August, 6 for breeder Tom Lacy, only finding an exceptional LITTLE BIG BEAR too good.
Additional winners of the weekend included Sportsdays Ltd and Hamad Al Jehani’s two-year-old SHELTON who crossed the finish line first at the Curragh, Ireland on her second start only and Mrs Claire Doyle’s three-year-old SILKY WILKIE who collected his fourth career-victory at Haydock, UK.
MEHMAS was also honored with his three-year-olds THE COVEX KID and LADY RAEBURN winning respectively at Brighton, UK on August, 3 and at Newmarket, UK on August, 5. The first named captured a second consecutive win for breeder Randolf Stevens Ltd while LADY RAEBURN recorded a second career-success for breeder Mrs Eleanor Commins. COOPERATION joined the dance when crossing the finish line first at Nottingham, UK on August, 4 for Pier House Stud.
The first crop of our Haras de Bouquetot-based sires ECTOT, AL WUKAIR and BRAMETOT was honored with a succession of successes. In Germany, races at Hassloch on August, 6 crowned both BRAMETOT’s QUEEN OF TARLETS and AL WUKAIR's DUONNA LUPA over respectively 2,000 and 2,200 meters. In France, ECTOT's SC Ecurie de Meautry-bred PIETER DE HOOCH recorded a second success on August, 2 over the 2,500 meters of Deauville racecourse and Franklin Finance SA, S. Vidal and Mrs E. Ribard-bred TOLLEVAST lost his maiden tag on August, 5 at Vichy on his second start only.
Already the sire of a G1 winner courtesy of NO SPEAK ALEXANDER, our Arrowfield Stud-based stallion SHALAA keept on the good scores and added a new Stakes performance to his tally. In France, M. Almahmoud’s three-year-old SIAM PARAGON followed-up his Listed victory on last May at ParisLongchamp by a second Listed-place at Deauville on August, 7 when finishing third in the Listed Prix Moonlight Cloud over 1,200 meters.
Tally-Ho Stud-based GALILEO GOLD proclaimed two heroes in a day, with three-year-olds GOLDEN GAL and SOPRAN ABUDHABI both notching victory on August, 2. Bred by Tally-Ho Stud, GOLDEN GAL was a third time winner in a handicap race at Catterick, UK while SOPRAN ABUDHABI received the honours at Varese, Italie. In the UK, three-year-old SYSTEM was found scoring at Doncaster on August, 4 for breeder Repona Bloodstock Ltd and two-year-old BOJINK lost her maiden tag at Redcar on August, 6 for Tally-Ho Stud.
Haras de Bouquetot-based TORONADO had also a duet of scorers celebrated on the first day of August on both sides of the Channel sea. Harts Farm Stud’s INNSE CALL claimed a handicap victory at Carlisle, UK while SCEA des Prairies and Mrs S. Jeffroy-bred TWILIGHT was a second time winner at Dieppe, France over 1,800 meters. Down-under, WILD CHAP proved to be a good chap when scoring at Canterburry on August, 3, TORONALI opened her winning account at Cranbourne and RADIANT ROSIE radiated in a handicap test at Riccarton.
Haras de Bouquetot-based OLYMPIC GLORY had also his collection of international winners. FLAT WHITE defeated his 9 rivals to win a handicap race at Catterick, UK on August, 2 and SIMI VALLEY reached first the 1,700 meters of Napoli, Italy on August, 5.
