Sensational Arc de Triomphe day for MEHMAS at ParisLongchamp, France from a brilliant 2-year-old G1 victory to a classy older G1 performance.
Already the sire of G1 winning two-year-old SCORTHY CHAMP earlier this season, our Tally-Ho Stud resident added yet another G1 title to his name. Two-year-old VERTICAL BLUE defeated unbeaten ZARKAVA’s grand-daughter ZARIGANA in a thrilling finish in the G1 Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac – Critérium des Pouliches. Bred by Haras du Mont-dit-Mont, she became the sixth G1 winner for MEHMAS
A moment later at ParisLongchamp, four-year-old ever-consistent BELIEVING finished third in the G1 Prix de l’Abbaye. Bred by M. Mullen and Cloneymore Farm, he scored his third consecutive G1 performance and fourth career-G1 performance.
Second Stakes victory of the day was courtesy of POWER UNDER ME who came home first in the Listed Concorde Stakes at Tipperary, Irlande. Bred by Barbel Reiss, he claimed his seventh career-win.
Additional two-year-old Stakes performances included NORTHERN TICKER at Redcar, UK on October, 5 when finishing good third in the Listed 2-year-old Trophy. Listed-placed on his first attempt at Stakes level for breeder Rabbah Bloodstock, he is still a bit greenish and has room for improvement.
On the same day, two-year-old BAROSSA VALLEY was finding success at Klampenborg, Copenhagen. Additional two-year-old winners of the week for our Tally-Ho Stud resident included SANTORA at Mulheim, Germany on October, 6 and EMPORESS at Bath, UK on October, 1st when breaking her maiden tag for breeders Michael and Martin Butler.
Congratulations to all respective connections!
