Tally-Ho Stud’s three-year-old MEHMENTO continued to steal the spotlight when landing by nearly 3 lengths the Listed Surrey Stakes on Oaks day at Epsom, UK on his fifth start only. LEGAL ATTACK, the Group-placed son of SHALAA bred by Toby Barker, was an excellent second for a beautiful AL SHAQAB Stallions exacta. Second Stakes victory of the week and 9th individual Stakes hero for MEHMAS was courtesy of Peter Henley & John Connolly-bred MAGNANIMOUS, who captured by 2 lengths the Listed Glencairn Stakes over the Irish mile of Leopardstown racecourse.
Wonder MEHMAS celebrated another double of debut winners on June, 1st with Tally-Ho Stud-bred two-year-old EL MAGA opening his winning account at first asking at Redcar, UK and three-year-old CLARENDON HOUSE notching a beautiful 5 lengths success at Yarmouth, UK on his first start. With EL MAGA being his 6th individual juvenile scorer of the year, the counter was swiftly boosted with SEA BREEZING, SECRET STRENGHT, ROSA MYSTICA breaking all their maiden tag this week. SEA BREEZING opened her winning counter at first asking on June, 4 at Down Royal, UK for breeder Coseda Ltd, SECRET STRENGHT was a first time winner at Musselburgh, UK on June, 5 for breeder Austin Lyons and ROSA MYSTICA left no room for mystical with a success at Goodwood, UK on June, 6 for breeder Varstock Ltd.
Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS had also a busy international week with his three-year-olds, starting with a duet on June, 2 with CHEMAH getting the best of his opponents at Siracusa, Italy and SAMARA BAY crossing the finish line first at Bro Park, Sweden. Pier House Stud’s three-year-old COOPERATION is enjoying a good 2021 season, highlighted by a first victory at Hamilton, UK on June, 3 and Listed-placed I AM MAGNETIC defeated his 11 rivals over the 1,200 meters of Milano, Italy to upgrade breeders Ringfort Stud & Tally-Ho Stud’s tally with a new success.
It was a back-to-back victory for the well-named BOOMSHALAA, a standout son of SHALAA bred by Petches Farm Ltd who showed another impressive turn-of-foot to clear away from his competitors on May, 31 at Windsor, UK to land his second victory in two starts this year. Three-year-old homebred SHERSHAB was the second scorer of the week for our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion with a second victory notched in a 1,100 meters handicap race at Salon de Provence, France on June, 5 for trainer Frederic Rossi and jockey Sylvain Ruis.
Tally-Ho Stud-based GALILEO GOLD welcomes in 2021 his first two-year-olds on the track, with already some flying contenders. Two-year-old filly OSCULA bred by Padraig Williams impressively scored back-to-back on Oaks day, defeating her 10 opponents by 3 lengths on June, 4 at Epsom, UK.
Wonder TORONADO celebrated a new Group 1 performer with Group-winner TRIBHUVAN finishing excellent runner-up in the G1 Manhattan Stakes on June, 6 at Belmont Park, USA on his first attempt at this level of the competition.
Our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion had also a busy week with international winners all over the planet. GALGANI opened the mark with a third success over the 1,300 meters of Sandown, Australia on June, 2, followed a few minutes later by Ecurie du Cadran and Mme P. Ades-Hazan-bred LOVELY DOLLY in a 2,000 meters handicap at Saint-Cloud, France. Three-year-olds LIGHT UP MY WORLD, AIR TO AIR and TORONADO SHADOW highlighted the week with a set of new wins : LIGHT UP MY WORLD lost his maiden tag at Wyong, Australia on June, 3rd, Lady Cobham-bred AIR TO AIR claimed a second consecutive victory by 2 lengths at Doncaster, UK on June, 5 followed a few minutes later by TORONADO SHADOW over the 1,800 meters of Milano, Italy. Juveline TORONADO's FRANCIE GIRL broke her maiden tag over the 1,400 meters of Racing.com Park Syn, Australia on June, 4 from a field of 11.
OLYMPIC GLORY was also celebrated on the other side of the planet with OLYMPIC CLASS the first of 3 three-year-old international heroes on June, 5. He crossed the finish line first at Gold Coast, Australia, followed by first time winner LAURIE at Gayndah, Australia and GIANNAH over the 1,600 meters of Giannah, Czechia. OLYMPIC GLORY ended May and started June with the same winning style, with Haras de Saint-Julien-bred GAME RUN opening his two-year-old winning account at first asking at Marseillle Borely, France and Ecurie de Castillon Bloodstock and SCEA des Prairies-bred ANNY GLORY scoring at Compiègne, France on her third start.
RULER OF THE WORLD was explosive in Spain with his three-year-old filly dual Classic winner MARACAY landing the Spanish Guineas/Oaks double on June, 5 at La Zarzuela. Four-year-old PINEAPPLE EXPRESS was also seen in the winners’ enclosure on May, 31 at Roscommon, Ireland.
Homebred JANUARY was our second winner of the week under our colors, with the André Fabre-trained daughter of Siyouni and Al Naamah proving best in the Prix Carling at Saint-Cloud under the ride of Augustin Madamet.
