May started with a new blacktype performance for our Haras de Bouquetot-based ZELZAL courtesy of MYTHICARA who finished third in the 2,000 meters Listed Grosser Preis Von Hannover at Hannover, Germany on May, 1st. The Group-placed four-year-old filly was bred by T. Bretzger.
There was more blacktype performance celebrated for our Haras de Bouquetot’s resident OLYMPIC GLORY with his four-year-old son GAME RUN who stepped-up in Stakes company on his first attempt at this level. The Haras de Saint-Julien-bred finished strong runner-up in the Listed Prix Servanne on May, 4 over the 1,200 meters of Chantilly, France after recording two consecutive victories at handicap level. On the very same day, GRIFFE DE CHAT was seen in the Italian winners’ enclosure when scoring his 1,500 meters handicap race at Firenze. OLYMPIC GLORY’s weekly international collection of victories also included a fourth career-win for Haras de Mandore-bred CONFILS at Brighton, GB on May, 2 and a success for OLYMPEA at Liepzig, Germany on the first day of May. Five-year-old ARTISTIC GLORY was the final winner of the week when posting a success in La Martinique on May, 7.
More medals claimed by our homebreds and colors this week, starting with our three-year-old homebred AJJAJ who broke his maiden tag over 7 furlongs on May, 3 at Kempton, UK under the ride of Alec Voikhansky and the training of Richard Hannon. Our son of Dark Angel and AJAYEB was bred at Haras de Bouquetot.
Three-year-old ERTEBAT also joined the winning squad when getting his head in front at Pontefract, UK under our colors. The Manor House Stable-trained broke his maiden tag on May, 3 in a 6 furlongs handicap race with Paul Mulrennan in the saddle.
UNQUESTIONABLE gained blacktype on his debut run with our two-year-old making a remarkable debut at the Curragh, Ireland when a brave third in the Listed First Flier Stakes under the ride of Wayne Lordan and the training of AP O’Brien. Co-owned with Coolmore Stud and Westerberg, our son of Wootton Bassett was bred by Normandie Breeding and Al.
Tally-Ho Stud’s resident MEHMAS recorded a triple of winners in a day, with two-year-old LASAIR opening her winning account at Fontainebleau, France on May, 3 on her third attempt for breeder P. Mcenery. A few minutes later on the other side of the Channel Sea, Joseph G.Reid’s three-year-old NINE SIX FIVE broke his maiden tag at Pontefact, UK on his second start only while four-year-old MEHSMERISE was crossing the finish line first in the USA at Bro Park racecourse. VENERE ROKEBY joined the dance to become MEHMAS’ first winner of May at Roma, Italy while Pier House Stud-bred COOPERATION defeated his 13 rivals in a handicap race at Thirsk, UK on May, 6. Hailing from the first crop of his sire, POWER UNDER ME ended the week with an impressive victory in the G3 Amethyst Stakes for a fifth career-win offered to breeder Barbel Weiss.
MEKHTAAL started his stud record in the best possible way with his second first crop of runners becoming a 5-lenghts debut winner over hurdles on May, 4 at Dieppe, France with three-year-old ALLIED POWERS bred by JBS Invest NV. Knockmullen House Stud-based MEKHTAAL’s first ever runner NARVAL was himself a close runner-up on his debut over hurdle.
Haras de Bouquetot’s ECTOT and AL WUKAIR congratulated both three-year-old heroes, starting respectively with Mrs E. Ribard-bred LOVE TRUE who lost her maiden tag over the 2,650 meters of Carcassonne racecourse, France on her third start. Al Shaqab Racing and Ecurie de Castillon-bred DREAM WUKAIR joined the dance when defeating her rivals over the 2,000 meters of Saint-Cloud, France on May, 5.
Three-year-old CONCHUMEA extended the international tally of his sire GALILEO GOLD when posting a success in Italy at Siracusa over 2,000 meters for breeder CJ Foy on May, 6.
