Al Shaqab homebred JAWWAL became the latest first-crop winner for Haras de Bouquetot stallion WOODED, taking the Prix de Lapalisse at Vichy. Trained by Henri-François Devin and ridden by Maryline Eon, the 2-year-old colt broke his maiden in style over the straight 5f, marking a well-earned victory.
JAWWAL is the 6th individual winner for WOODED, a Group 1 winning sprinter son of Wootton Bassett. The colt hails from a strong pedigree, being out of Al Johrah, who was Royal Ascot juvenile Stakes placed by Bated Breath.
Raised at Bouquetot, JAWWAL is continuing the fine form of WOODED’s early progeny.
