Collection of victories under our colors in the past two weeks, highlighted by two Classic prospects in AL HAKEEM and PLACE DU CARROUSEL.
Our homebred three-year-old AL HAKEEM showed highly impressive at Chantilly on May, 3 to land the Listed Prix de Suresnes by 4 easy lengths. Entrusted to Jean-Claude Rouget and ridden to victory by Cristian Demuro, he is one of the hot favorites for the Classic G1 Prix du Jockey Club on June at Chantilly, France. Raised at Haras de Bouquetot, he is a three-year-old son of G3-placed JADHABA.
Second Stakes victory was courtesy of PLACE DU CARROUSEL, with an exciting 1-2 in the G3 Prix Cléopâtre for our colors on April, 29. Three-year-old PLACE DU CARROUSEL displayed a powerful turn-of-foot to secure her first Stakes victory on her third start only, with SAMAHRAM finishing strong runner-up. Entrusted to André Fabre and ridden to victory by Mickaël Barzalona, the first named is co-owned with Ballylinch Stud. With only ¾ lengths to spare, the Francis-Henri Graffard-trained SAMAHRAM had Christophe Soumillon in the saddle to grab a Group place on her second start only under our colors.
It was a treble on April, 29 celebrated for our colors, starting with the victory of three-year-old MARSOUL over the 8 furlongs of Notthingham, UK. Our son of SHALAA entrusted to Richard Hannon opened his score under a brilliant ride from Rossa Ryan. A few minutes, our stallion ZELZAL celebrated the victories of MISHGAR and ARABIA. Aged three, the first named was back to winning ways with Jean-Bernard Eyquem in the saddle to score the Class 1 Prix Blanche over 8,5 furlongs at Marseille, France for the training of Jean-Claude Rouget. His tally is rich of two victories and two places out of four starts. Homebred ARABIA entrusted to Henri-François Devin was the third musketeer of the day when breaking her maiden in style at Saint-Cloud, France over 7 furlongs. Our ZELZAL's three-year-old raised at Haras de Bouquetot landed the handicap Prix Villaroche under a strong ride from Coralie Pacaut.
Last but not least, our homebred JOUZA continued to impress with a second consecutive win out of three starts. Our daughter of TORONADO trained by Henri-François Devin and ridden by Clément Lecoeuvre secured the Prix du Long Rocher for three-year-old fillies over the mile of Fontainebleau racecourse. Bred at Haras de Bouquetot, she is out of RASMIYA, from the brilliant Group winning family of SENT FROM HEAVEN and ABOVE AVERAGE.
