MEHMAS is in full bloom with his juveniles, including two Stakes performances celebrated this week. Listed-placed on her second start after winning debuts, Denis McDonnell’s MISS LAMAI opened her Stakes account on her fourth start by storming home in the Listed Marwell Stakes at Naas, Ireland on July, 24. Similarly Listed-placed on his second start after a winning debut, Tally-Ho Stud-bred TALE OF THE HEART finished a closed third in the G3 Princess Margaret Stakes on July, 27 at Ascot, UK, in a thrilling finish for his fourth start.
MEHMAS's juvenile winning collection on debut featured Elwick Stud-bred STRONG WARRIOR who posted a three-length success at Ayr, UK on July, 22, as well as Sean Ronan and Caroline Hanly-bred DIEGO VENTURA who made his first start a winning one on July, 24 at Naas, Ireland. Two-year-old MISS FASCINATOR bred by Stephen Sullivan joined the dance by opening her winning account by nearly three-lengths on July 26 at Ascot, UK, a day before Haras du Mont dit Mont-bred VERTICAL BLUE who made her third start a lucky one at Clairefontaine, France.
The older generation of our Tally-Ho Stud-resident was also well represented this week with three-year-olds BONA FORTUNA and HIGH VIOLET who were both winners of a handicap race in the UK. The first named bred by Tally-Ho Stud was honored at Windsor on July, 22 while Tally-Ho Stud and Tony McKiernan representative’s HIGH VIOLET made her way at Leicester on July, 27. Four-year-olds HALE END and LIGHT SPEED were both honored in the UK, the first named bred by Paul McEnery’s recording a fourth career-win at Ayr on July, 22 while Brian Williamson-bred LIGHT SPEED was a fourth-time winner at Chester on July, 27. The week ended in Ireland courtesy of Group winner POWER UNDER ME who made a winning seasonal comeback at Naas on July, 24 for breeder Ms Bardel Reiss.
