The Al Shaqab Racing colors shone brightly at Deauville this afternoon, capturing back-to-back wins in the Prix Nonoalco and Prix La Bamba, both over 1,300m on the all-weather track.
The first victory came courtesy of WOODSHAUNA, a 2-year-old colt by Wooded out of Tosen Shauna (Alhebayeb), trained by Francis-Henri Graffard and ridden to triumph by Christophe Soumillon. Breaking his maiden in stylish fashion, WOODSHAUNA has now become the ninth individual winner for WOODED, who stands at Haras de Bouquetot. This colt had already shown significant promise with a fast-finishing third-place on debut in the coveted Prix de Tancarville, further underscoring his potential.
Following up in the very next race, our homebred STAR OF BRITTANY delivered a strong performance to secure the second win of the day. Trained by Henri-François Devin and guided by Maryline Eon, this 2-year-old filly by Starspangledbanner out of Spirit of Brittany (Invincible Spirit) showed her class on only her second start. She was raised at Haras de Bouquetot.
