There was something special at Chantilly on July, 17 when our very much expected QOUS left a lasting impression to open his winning account in the 10,5 furlongs Prix du Mont Alta. First product out of legendary dual G1 Arc de Triomphe victress TREVE entrusted to André Fabre, he displayed a convincing turn of foot at second asking to defeat more experienced opponents under the ride of Vincent Cheminaud.
There were more victories overseas for our homebreds this week with Richard Hannon-trained QAYSAR adding on July, 18 an 8th success to his consistent tally at Haydock, and John Gosden’s three-year-old AL RUFAA recording a second win by nearly 5 lengths on July, 13 at Kempton.
Our stallions were also celebrated this week, starting with TORONADO and his two scorers on July, 17. Two-year-old MONA LISA KLAXON bred by Mandore International Agency caused a big impression at Chantilly to post a 2-lenghts victory in the 1,400m Prix de Valgenceuse at first asking. A few minutes later and a few miles away, three-year-old CLOUD DRIFT followed the footsteps of TORONADO’s G2 winner TACTICAL to garner a second success at Leicester for owner-breeder Her Majesty the Queen.
In Australia, very consistent and always in the top 3 ELDERFLOWER recorded a third victory over the mile out of 6 starts on July, 16 at Ballarat.
Tally-Ho-Stud-based freshman sire MEHMAS enjoyed another terrific week. Two-year-old METHOD kept his record unscathed to become his first Stakes victor with a 2 ¼ lengths success in the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes on July, 18 at Newbury. A few days earlier, BRIGHT ARMOR prevailed as MEHMAS’ 8th individual winner with a maiden victory at Bath on July, 14.
In France, OLYMPIC GLORY’s BARSHAM crossed the finish line first on July, 14 over the 2,200m of Le Dorat while down-under, RUN FOR GLORY hit the glory at the Sunshine Coast on July, 19.

Il y avait quelque chose de spécial le 17 juillet à Chantilly lorsque QOUS s’est imposé dans le Prix du Mont Alta en laissant une superbe impression. Premier produit de notre légendaire double lauréate du Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe G1, TREVE, et confié à André Fabre, il a montré une accélération décisive sous la monte de Vincent Cheminaud pour devancer des concurrents plus expérimentés.
Nos représentants se sont également illustrés outre-Manche cette semaine. QAYSAR confié à Richard Hannon a accroché une huitième victoire à un palmarès déjà conséquent le 18 juillet à Haydock et AL RUFAA âgé de trois ans et confié à John Gosden s’est octroyé une deuxième victoire par cinq longueurs le 13 juillet à Kempton.
Nos étalons étaient également à l’honneur cette semaine, à l’instar de TORONADO qui a réalisé une nouvelle passe de deux le 17 juillet. Elevée par Mandore International Agency et âgée de deux ans, MONA LISA KLAXON a fait forte impression sur l’hippodrome des Princes de Condés en signant sa première sortie d’une victoire par deux longueurs dans le Prix de Valgenceuse disputé sur 1.400 mètres. Quelques minutes plus tard à Leicester, le trois ans CLOUD DRIFT a suivi l’exemple de TACTICAL, fils de TORONADO et lauréat de Groupe 2, en s’imposant lui aussi pour le compte de son propriétaire-éleveur Sa Majesté la Reine.
En Australie, la très régulière ELDERFLOWER a signé quant à elle une troisième victoire sur le mile de Ballarat le 16 juillet pour sa sixième sortie.
L’étalon de première production MEHMAS basé à Tally-Ho-Stud a de nouveau profité d’une semaine exceptionnelle. Son deux ans, METHOD, a maintenu son invincibilité pour lui octroyer sa première victoire de Stakes dans la Listed Rose Bowl Stakes, remportée par 2 ¼ longueurs le 18 juillet à Newbury. Quelques jours plus tôt, BRIGHT ARMOR pouvait quant à lui se targuer d’être le huitième gagnant individuel de MEHMAS après une victoire dans un maiden disputé le 14 juillet à Bath.
En France, OLYMPIC GLORY a compté sur BARSHAM, vainqueur le 14 juillet sur les 2.200 mètres de Le Dorat et RUN FOR GLORY, qui a décroché la gloire le 19 juillet sur l’hippodrome australien de Sunshine Coast.
