A new Group performance was celebrated for our Haras de Bouquetot-based ZELZAL, as his two-year-old FRAISE DES BOIS added to her impressive tally. Now a four-time winner and dual Group performer from six outings for the Vitse family, she secured a strong third-place finish in the G3 Prix Eclipse at Chantilly, France, on September 21.
More Stakes performances followed for MEHMAS’ juveniles. Two-year-old LA BELLOTA finished a great runner-up in the G2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury, UK on September, 2, marking his first attempt at Group level. Bred by Tally-Ho Stud, he was only denied victory by a short neck on his fourth career start. Fellow two-year-old STAR OF MEHMAS continued his fine form, stretching his record to three wins from four starts with a 1-length triumph in the Listed Harry Rosebery Stakes at Ayr, UK, on September 20. Bred by T. Stewart and J. Hanly, he overcame a field of 14 rivals with ease.
Six-year-old TAJ DRAGON joined the dance in Hong-Kong on September, 22 when finishing second in the 1,400 meter G3 The Celebration Cup.
The week's tally of MEHMAS' two-year-old winners was further bolstered by AUBERGINE, who made a winning debut at Redcar, UK, on September 17, for Deer Forest Stud and A. Peraino. A productive day on September 19 saw two more maidens shed their tags: Petches Farm’s REDORANGE opened his account at Yarmouth, UK, while Tally-Ho Stud-bred TOMMY MCJOCHN broke through at Naas, Ireland. Adding to the celebrations at Newbury on September 21, MAKE YOU SMILE made a winning debut for Airlie Stud and Mrs S. Rogers.
To round off the list, three-year-old JENNI broke her maiden tag at Ayr, UK on September, 21 for breeder Tally-Ho Stud.
Our Haras de Bouquetot-based sire ROMANISED celebrated new success with his first-crop of two-year-olds. YOUNG AND PROUD recorded a second career-win at Compiègne, France on September, 17 for breeder P. Pasquet.
AL WUKAIR counted on new victories in France with FLEXIBILITY coming home first at Toulouse on September, 18 for a fifth career-win offered to breeder Haras des Sablonnets. Two-year-old ALYSIA lost her maiden tag at the end of the week for the Lemaitre family with a success at Castera-Verduzan, France on her third start.
Our Haras de Bouquetot’s OLYMPIC GLORY sired a double of winners on September, 22 across two countries, with three-year-old OUDON opening his account at Cavaillon, France, for Franklin Finance, while KRON JUWEL landed victory at Mannheim, Germany.
