LADY'ARMOR provided her sire ARMOR with his first winner from just two runners to date, producing a taking performance to land the Prix des Hortensias, a 1,000-metre conditions race at Lyon-Parilly.

Trained by Mme Jane Soubagne and ridden by Alejandro Gutierrez Val, the filly was making only her second start following a promising runner-up effort at La Teste. Always travelling well, she picked up smartly in the straight and pulled clear to score by 3½ lengths, defeating rivals with previous winning form.

A January-born daughter of ARMOR and out of the New Approach mare Faadiyah, LADY'ARMOR becomes the first winner for her sire, himself a Group-winning juvenile. ARMOR now has one winner from two runners, with both having been placed. The filly was bred in France by Stuart McPhee, to whom congratulations are due, along with all her connections.
