The first foals by LUSAIL arrived this January as the breeding season got underway.
The first foal born, a filly out of Evertogether (Kodiac), comes from the close family of precocious Group performers Mind Of Madness and Dragon Pulse. Bred by Haras de Castillon in Normandy, she is an exciting addition to a family known for its early success on the track.
Days later, War Story (Sunday Break), dam of recent Stakes winner Territory War, delivered a LUSAIL filly at SCEA des Prairies in Brittany. Her breeder Thomas Jeffroy commented:
"War Story's Lusail filly is splendid. Given the mare’s previous production, Lusail has brought the desired attributes: substance, a strong physique, and good bone."
In her footsteps, Linea Blu (Due Diligence), a half-sister to Group winner Keeper Of Time, produced another filly by LUSAIL at Haras d’Écouché in Normandy.
Last night, a couple more fillies made their way into the world, including one out of Baileys Showgirl, who foaled at Haras des Trois Chapelles. A Stakes-winning daughter of Sepoy, Baileys Showgirl also placed in both the Prix de la Rochette Gr.3 and the Prix du Calvados Gr.3. Not long after, it was Al Shaqab Racing's homebred Shalfah who delivered yet another filly by LUSAIL. Shalfah is a regally bred daughter of Invincible Spirit and Gr.1 performer Rjwa.
Congratulations to all breeders involved in welcoming these first foals by LUSAIL. The sole son of Mehmas to stand in France, LUSAIL enters his second season at stud at Haras de Bouquetot in 2025.
