Two first-crop winners celebrated for ROMANISED this week on both sides of the Channel. Two-year-old REINE DE MEDICIS broke her maiden in nice style on her second time out to become the fifth individual first-crop winner of our Haras de Bouquetot-based sire at Deauville, France on August, 6. The SCEA du Grand Chêne-bred was followed up two days later by consistent PRAETORIAN who opened his winning account by nearly 3-lengths at Brighton, UK on August, 8 for Epona Bloodstock.
ZELZAL was represented by three-year-old CASARES who collected a second consecutive win in a 1,600-meter handicap race at Clairefontaine, France on August, 9 for breeder Vincent Lechenault. The following day, DRIMYS opened his winning account in a 1,800-meter handicap race at Saint-Malo, France for breeders Baronne ML.Van Dedem and P. Joyaux.
Juveniles 1-2 celebrated in the UK for our Tally-Ho Stud-based sire MEHMAS on August, 9. Plantation Stud-bred KING OF LIGHT made a winning seasonal comeback at Musselburgh in a thrilling finish, with Tally-Ho Stud-bred LA BELLOTA finishing second on her second start with only a neck to spare. Additional winners included four-year-old MEHMAR who claimed a second consecutive win at Naas, Ireland on August, 5 and GEOPOLITIC who was successful at München, Germany on August, 10.
GALILEO GOLD was well represented in the UK with two winners in two days. Ken Caroll-bred GOLDEN PROSPERITY secured his second career-win at Catterick on August, 6 while BRUNO’S GOLD defeated his rivals in a handicap race at Pontefract.
OLYMPIC GLORY was honored on the other side of the planet courtesy of GOLDEN GARDEN who reached first the 2,000 meters of Casterton racecourse, Australia on August, 11. LINES OF GLORY joined the dance when defeating his 11 rivals in a handicap race at Mt Gambier, Australia on August, 9.
