Stellar new week of racing for our stallions, with plenty of blacktype and delightful performances.
OLYMPIC GLORY was celebrated at the highest level on August, 23 with ETONIAN, who impressively brought home the trophy of the Sandown’s G3 Betway Solario Stakes to follow the footsteps of stallions KINGMAN and TOO DARN HOT. With a perfect tally of two victories in two starts, the two-year-old son of OLYMPIC GLORY bred by Emir Alkas could target the G1 2,000 Guineas next year and maybe the G1 Vertem Futurity Horse this season, the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère to match his sire victory or the G1 Dewhurst Stakes.
It was only a few minutes later at Deauville that GRAND GLORY finished an excellent third in the G2 Prix de Pomone despite a nightmarish trip. The daughter of OLYMPIC GLORY bred by Haras de Bourgeauville could either target the G1 Prix Vermeille or the G1 Prix de l’Opéra in September as her next start.
Our four times G1 winner stallion also signed a double down-under on August, 22 with LORD OLYMPUS opening his winning account at Newcastle over 900 meters and RUN FOR GLORY claiming a third consecutive victory in a 1,350m handicap test at Doomben. Back in France, Listed-placed homebred ALJUMAYLIYAH was the winner of a Class 2 at Vichy over 1,600m on August, 18.
It was once again a very impressive victory in Guadeloupe on August, 23 for GALLICA FLAVIA, with the three-year-old daughter of TORONADO bred by SCEA des Prairies and Mrs Audrey Leyval storming home at Karukera to capture her fifth victory with a 5-lenghts margin. In the USA, RULER OF THE WORLD’s MAJOR SNUGFIT was the victor of a handicap test at Beverley on August, 18.
Tally Ho Stud-based freshman sire MEHMAS added to his first crop stars SUPREMACY and METHOD a third contender with MINZAAL, the new juvenile sprinting sensation bred by Ringfort Stud who stamped his superiority in the renowned 6 furlongs-G2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Grimcrack Stakes on August, 21 at York, with MEHMAS’ MYSTERY SMILES back in third.
The Classic and Dual G1 winner claimed a second Stakes scorer during the York Festival with ACKLAM EXPRESS, hero of the Listed Julia Graves Roses Stakes to boost the record of MEHMAS with a 6th blacktype and 4th Stakes victor. Impressive at each of his starts, the two-year-old bred by R. Ryan is rich of a spectacular tally of three victories out of four starts.
In the UK, SAMARA BAY was a second time winner at Catterick in a 6 furlongs-handicap test on August, 17 while in Italy at Naples, ROYAL MEHMAS royally opened his winning account at first asking on August, 19 to become MEHMAS’ 21th individual two-year-old victor.

OLYMPIC GLORY était au coeur des célébrations le 23 août avec l'impressionnante victoire d'ETONIAN dans le G3 Betway Solario Stakes à Sandown, une épreuve précédemment remportée par les étalons KINGMAN et TOO DARN HOT. Riche d’un palmarès parfait de deux victoires en deux sorties, le fils âgé de deux ans d’OLYMPIC GLORY élevé par Emir Alkas pourrait disputer les G1 2,000 Guineas l’année prochaine, avec le G1 Vertem Futurity en ligne de mire cette saison, le G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère pour égaliser le score de son père ou les G1 Dewhurst Stakes.
Quelques minutes après à Deauville, GRAND GLORY s’est quant à elle octroyée le deuxième accessit du G2 Prix de Pomone à l’issue d’un parcours cauchemardesque. La fille d’OLYMPIC GLORY élevée par le Haras de Bourgeauville se présentera au départ du G1 Prix Vermeille ou G1 Prix de l’Opéra en septembre pour sa prochaine sortie.
Notre quatruple lauréat de G1 OLYMPIC GLORY a également signé un beau doublé australien le 22 août, LORD OLYMPUS ayant ouvert son compteur de victoires à l’issue des 900 mètres de Newcastle et RUN FOR GLORY ayant décroché son quatrième succès dans un handicap disputé sur les 1.350 mètres de Doomben. En France, notre élève placée de Listed ALJUMAYLIYAH s’est adjugée une victoire dans une Classe 2 sur 1.600 mètres le 18 août à Vichy.
GALLICA FLAVIA s’est une fois de plus distinguée en Guadeloupe le 23 août, la fille de TORONADO élevée par la SCEA des Prairies et Mlle Audrey Leyval ayant accrochée une cinquième victoire par pas moins de cinq longueurs. Outre-Atlantique, MAJOR SNUGFIT s’est octroyé une course à handicap le 18 août sur l’hippodrome de Berverley pour le compte de son père, RULER OF THE WORLD.
L’étalon de première production basé à Tally Ho Stud, MEHMAS, comptait déjà au sein de sa première production les impressionnants SUPREMACY et METHOD. La nouvelle star des sprinters, MINZAAL, vient compléter ce superbe trio après sa victoire dans le prestigieux G2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Grimcrack Stakes le 21 août à York, l’élève de Ringfort Stud devançant un autre fils de MEHMAS, MYSTERY SMILES.
L’étalon s’est également distingué pendant le Meeting de York avec ACKLAM EXPRESS, héro de la Listed Julia Graves Roses Stakes et 6ème blacktype et 4ème lauréat de Stakes de son père. Impressionnant à chacune de ses sorties, l’élève de R. Ryan âgé de deux ans compte un spectaculaire palmarès de trois victoires en quatre sorties.
Outre-Manche à Catterick, SAMARA BAY s’est imposée pour la deuxième fois le 17 août dans une épreuve à handicap sur 6 furlongs tandis qu’en Italie à Naples, ROYAL MEHMAS a ouvert son compteur de victoires dès sa première sortie le 19 août pour s’inscrire comme le 21ème lauréat individuel de MEHMAS.
