Today starts the two-days 2023 session of the La Teste Osarus Yearling Sale, with 14 individuals by Haras de Bouquetot-based Sires up for sale:
• First season sire ROMANISED will open the ball with Lot 6, a colt whose second dam is none other than a sister to dual Gr.1 winner SMARTY JONES. ROMANISED will also be represented with Lot 12, a colt from the direct family of multiple Gr.1 performer PASSAGER, as well as with Lot 129, a half brother to 2 Blacktype horses. Consigners of these 3 yearlings are respectively Elevage de Coutainville, Haras de Maulepaire & The Channel Consignment.
• There will only be one chance for prospective buyers to acquire a daughter of ZELZAL, with Lot 229, a sister to Gr.3 Prix de la Rochette winner THE BLACK ALBUM, consigned by Haras des Faunes.
• ECTOT will be well represented with no less than 5 yearlings including Lot 37, a colt out of a daughter of Gr.1 performer SHALANAYA; Lot 49 a colt out of the Blacktype mare SPORTY DOLL; Lot 94, whose dam is a sister to Stakes winner LEGACIES; Lot 131, a colt out of Multiple Stakes performer ENDLESS SUMMER; Lot 202 whose dam is out of multiple Group performer CAMPANILLAS - all of them presented by Haras du Lieu des Champs.
• AL WUKAIR will also be represented by 5 yearlings including Lot 93, a filly out of a sister to 2 Blacktype horses; Lot 97, a colt whose dam is a sister to Group winner THE BLACK ALBUM; Lot 131, a sister to Stakes winner WINTER PUDDING; Lot 144, a colt out of a sister to multiple Group performer FIVE FIFTEEN from the direct family of ALPINE ROSE; and Lot 210, whose dam is a half sister to Blacktype VALDIYANA from the direct family of Prix de Diane Victrix VALYRA. All 5 yearlings will be respectively presented by Haras de Maulepaire, Haras des Faunes, Elevage de Traou Land, Haras de Precolette & Haras de Castillon.
Irish-based MEKHTAAL, whose first 3-year-olds have made a splendid start in jump racing this year, will be represented by two yearlings presented by Ecurie de Grenoux: Lot 16, a filly out of a sister to Gr.1 performer RAABIHAH; and Lot 27, sister to a winner from the family of Gr.1 winner SOLEIL NOIR.
Australian star TORONADO is represented this year with 4 yearlings from his penultimate European crop, including Lot 82, a colt from the family of Gr.1 performer NORSE DANCER; Lot 105, a daughter of Blacktype winner CALAHORRA; Lot 188, a colt out of a sister to 3 Blacktype performers; and Lot 231, a colt our of Stakes placed MOHICANE. These 4 yearlings will be respectively consigned by Elevage de la Mareziere, Haras de Castillon, Haras de Montaigu & Haras de Clairefontaine.
