Three of our stallions celebrated Stakes success this past week, including our Haras de Bouquetot-based ROMANISED who opened the Group mark from his first crop of runners. Classic-entered ZIA AGNESE made a striking impression in the G3 Prix Cléopâtre at Saint-Cloud, France, on April 18, becoming ROMANISED’s first Group winner - and second black type performer following CURRAGH CAMP who was placed in the Listed Prix Maurice Caillaut just days earlier. On her Group debut, the progressive filly made a decisive step toward the G1 Prix de Diane – French Oaks, for which she holds an entry.

ROMANISED was also represented across the Channel by three-year-old ROMANTIC SPIRIT, who recorded his second consecutive victory at Wolverhampton, UK, on April 19 for breeders Haras de la Mercerie, F. and P. Ga.

MEHMAS joined the spotlight from his base at Tally-Ho Stud through the performance of three-year-old ESTEPONA, runner-up in the G3 Prix Sigy at Chantilly on April 14. Owned and bred by Cuadra Mediterraneo, he delivered a strong performance and is now entered in the G3 Prix Texanita. MEHMAS was also represented by three-year-old DREAM OUT LOUD, bred by Mitaab Abdullah, who broke his maiden at Kempton, UK, in a handicap race on April 15. In France, debutant SHIRIBETSU won the Prix Parade d’Amour on April 18 for breeders Haras de Saint-Vincent, Haras du Saubouas, and ABF while in Ireland, three-year-old JALIYAH made a successful seasonal reappearance at Cork on April 19 for breeders Corduff Stud and Farmleigh Bloodstock.

Our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion ZELZAL added to his Stakes record three-year-old ZAKHAROVA, who finished third in the Listed Prix Caravelle on April 20 in Toulouse, France. Bred by Scuderia Micolo, ZAKHAROVA is out of the Lujain mare Diva Cattiva and was recording her third placing from five career starts. A winner at Clairefontaine as a juvenile, she is now one of two black type performers by ZELZAL in 2025 to date.
