ASHERAH and MONTERRICO, two members of WOODED's first crop, scored maiden victories today in separate races.
ASHERAH, a 3-year-old filly out of Umm Bab (Sea The Stars), broke her maiden at second asking in the Prix Henri Veran (Prix de Carnoles) at Cagnes-sur-Mer. Trained by Jérôme Reynier and ridden by Cristian Demuro, she dominated the 1,300-meter contest on soft ground, winning by an impressive margin of 5.5 lengths. Bred by Al Shaqab Racing, ASHERAH now carries the silks of Mme Erika Gilliar.
Later in the day, MONTERRICO, a 3-year-old colt out of Clariyn (Acclamation), captured the Prix du Parc Naturel de Brière at Pornichet. Partnered with Guillaume Guedj-Gay and trained by T.J. Martins Novais, he secured victory in the 2,100-meter race on the all-weather track. MONTERRICO was bred by S. Desmontils and Écurie Brillantissime.
These successes highlight another strong day for WOODED, who concluded the 2024 season ranked among the top 10 sires of two-year-olds in France by prize money.
Congratulations to the breeders and connections of both winners!
