ZELZAL's WE’LL DEFEND made an eye-catching debut yesterday at Chantilly, delivering a commanding performance in the Prix de la Serpentine. Sent off over 1,900m on the all-weather track, the three-year-old filly traveled comfortably before showing an impressive turn of foot twice in the straight, securing an authoritative four-length victory under Christophe Soumillon. Her performance earned her both JDG Rising Star and TDN Rising Star status, marking her as a filly to follow for the season ahead.
Bred by Ecurie Haras du Cadran, SCEA Haras du Ma, and Ecurie Patrick Klein, WE’LL DEFEND is out of Skysweeper, a daughter of Hurricane Run and the dam of last year's Gr.1 Classic performer La Parisienne. WE'LL DEFEND is herself one of ZELZAL's progeny to hold Classic entries for the spring.
Congratulations to her connections!
